DAILY DEVOTION - 14 MAY 2020

Good morning. Peace be with you all. Rejoice in the Lord always. "This is what the LORD says: “Don't let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!” Jeremiah 9:23-24 NLT.

Insight

People tend to boast and brag about qualities in themselves: human wisdom, power (strength), kindness, beauty and riches. Many people love themselves more than they love God because all they do and say is about themselves. But God puts a higher priority on knowing Him personally and living a life that reflects His justice and righteousness.

Challenge

What do you want people to admire most about you? Today, God should be the one you are boasting about. Jesus is the one you should be pointing other people to for salvation. Stop boasting in yourself and boast about God's unfailing love, His Son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and His Word, who brings righteousness and justice to the people of the world.This is what God delights and rejoices in.
