FAMILY OF FAITH MINISTRIES.
Good morning. The Peace of God be with you all. Rejoice in the Lord always. "You shall not muzzle the ox while it is threshing." Deuteronomy 25:4 NASB.
Insight: On the surface, here is a law that seems only to apply to agriculture. We see an ox at work, harnessed by a skilled master, threshing the field, or preparing the ground for planting. Then suddenly the ox is muzzled, and work comes to a halt.
Perhaps the path is blocked, or the ground becomes too hard. The equipment may fail. Perhaps the master is distracted, and threshing cannot continue. A harvest may be delayed. Time could be wasted.
Why would anyone want to muzzle this ox? Perhaps jealousy? Rivalry?Differences of opinion? The impact is significant because muzzling occurs while productive activity is taking place.
Writing to the Corinthians, Paul used this principle to remind critics why it was important to support those who minister the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 9:1-14. The principle here applies to every part of life.
The message is simple. We all are called to do our part. But we can “muzzle the ox” in different ways. We can fail to support God’s work. We can be critical or complain. We can be divisive or spread negative attitudes.
Challenge: Ask God to show you if you are “muzzling the ox” in any way. Be a person who provides a positive influence on others. Give of your resources to help spread the Gospel. Seek to be faithful to fulfill God’s calling. Dedicate yourself to support the work of evangelism and discipleship. Always do your part. Keep on serving God.
Prayer: Father, show me how I can help spread the Gospel. Free me from a critical spirit. I commit my time and resources to You. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.🙏🏼🔥🙌🏼💖
