DAILY DEVOTION - 22 MAY 2021.

FAMILY OF FAITH MINISTRIES.

Good morning. The Peace of God be with you all. Rejoice in the Lord always. "May he also rule from sea to sea and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth." Psalm 72:8 NASB

Insight: As we look at the world today, we can see nothing but disobedience and rebelliousness. Not triumph, but tumult. Our eyes are grieved by sin, violence, and conflicts. Isaac Watts had the same concerns when he looked at the world in 1719. But instead, he saw, by faith, a time when prophecies had been fulfilled and when Jesus ruled over everything!

Watts expressed this faith in a hymn called “Jesus Shall Reign.” He wrote that Jesus would reign wherever the sun shone. Jesus’ kingdom would stretch from shore to shore. He would reign over the islands, and “from north to south,” princes would gather to “pay their homage at His feet.” Watts saw how people both young and old would bless Jesus’ name. Prisoners would leap to lose their chains. The weary would “find eternal rest.” Every need would be met. Where Jesus reigns, “He displays His healing power” and “death and the curse are known no more.”

Challenge: As we think about our wonderful Saviour, how can we help but praise Him! As Watts wrote,“Let every creature rise and bring peculiar honors to our King; angels descend with songs again, and earth repeat the loud amen!” Don’t be discouraged by problems. Jesus shall reign! He reigns right now! Commit your life to spread the Gospel, to save hurting souls. Praise His name. Worship Him! Believe in Jesus your Lord and Saviour. Let Jesus reign within you!
