DAILY DEVOTION - 29 APRIL 2020

Good morning. Peace be with you all. Rejoice in the Lord always. "And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past." Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 NLT.

Insight The main them of Ecclesiastes : People should enjoy, but should not be greedy; no-one knows what is good for humanity; righteousness and wisdom escape us. Kohelet reflects on the limits of human power: all people face death, and death is better than life, but we should enjoy life when we can. God wants us to view what we have (whether it is much or little) with the right perspective—our possessions and all that we have is a gift from God. Although these gifts are not the source of our joy, they are a reason to rejoice because every good thing comes from God to those who believe in Him. Challenge Where is your point of focus? On your possessions or on God? We should focus more on the Giver of our gifts than the gifts. We can be content with what we have when we realize that with God, we have everything we need.
