Good morning. Peace be with you all. Rejoice in the Lord always. "No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.” Luke 8:16-17 NLT.
Insight
Jesus is speaking to a large crowd and after explaining a few parables He makes this comparison of a lamp on a stand. When the light of the truth about Jesus illuminates us, it is our duty to shine that light to help others and not hide it.
Challenge
Our witness for Christ should be public, not hidden. When we receive and are changed by Jesus life and words we are given a purpose to help others to see their path to a Christ illuminated life. We should not keep the benefits for ourselves alone but pass them on to others. In order to be helpful, we need to be well placed. Seek opportunities to be there when unbelievers need their darkness removed by Christ's light. May God bless and protect you all. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
